MOSTAVIO Inc's Drone Division Launches Skyguard, an AI-Powered Autonomous Drone Security Platform Built for Construction Sites

TORONTO, ON, September 28, 2026. MOSTAVIO Inc’s drone division announced the commercial launch of Skyguard, an AI-powered autonomous drone security platform built to help construction companies detect and respond to security incidents across active job sites.

For construction companies, the impact of theft often extends far beyond the value of the materials or equipment that disappear.

Missing equipment or essential materials can bring scheduled work to a stall, delay trades, increase project costs, and put additional pressure on teams already working within demanding timelines and budgets.

“The cost of replacing the stolen equipment was negligible compared to the impact it had on the project. The next day, we had our labour and equipment on site, but we simply couldn’t work because essential pieces were missing. It pushed back our schedule, and every day in construction has a cost. The more you delay the work, the more you delay the final deliverable to the client,” said Frank Taheri, Founder & CEO of 6ixGroup and Skyguard’s first client.

Skyguard was developed around that operational reality.

The platform combines autonomous drones, artificial intelligence, computer vision, and site-monitoring software to give construction teams a faster way to understand what is happening across their sites when a security event occurs.

When a defined event is detected, Skyguard can autonomously deploy a drone to the affected area, provide an aerial view of the situation and notify designated personnel, giving teams real-time visibility while an incident is still unfolding.

“Construction sites gave us a very clear problem to solve,” said Nima Pourmostaghimi, CEO of MOSTAVIO Inc. “The goal was to give site operators a practical way to see what is happening, respond faster and have better information when something goes wrong.”

Built around the reality of construction sites

Construction sites present a unique security challenge. They are large, constantly changing environments containing valuable equipment and materials, multiple access points and areas that can be difficult to monitor from fixed positions alone.

Skyguard has been developed through real-world field testing, including testing within active construction environments.

That approach allowed the development team to gather feedback directly from the people who would ultimately use the technology.

Skyguard has also been developed to meet applicable Transport Canada regulatory requirements for commercial autonomous drone operations.

From detection to real-time awareness

When something happens on a large construction site, knowing that an event occurred is only part of the problem. Teams also need to understand what is happening, where it is happening and whether action is required. Skyguard is designed to operate as an automated layer within a construction site’s broader security strategy.

Once an event is detected, the platform can dispatch a drone to provide additional visual information from the air, allowing authorized personnel to assess the situation remotely and determine the appropriate response.

“Speed matters, but context matters just as much,” said Pourmostaghimi. “An alert tells you something happened. We wanted Skyguard to help answer the next question: what is happening on the site right now?”

Beyond theft detection

While security is Skyguard’s first commercial application, the underlying platform has been designed for broader construction-site intelligence.

“It’s a system with a lot of capacity to build on, and we’re trying to tap into that potential as one of the first companies in Canada to do so,” said Frank Taheri, Founder & CEO, 6ixGroup.

Because its AI detection models can be configured around different site requirements, Skyguard can potentially be used to identify safety concerns, monitor designated areas and automate other forms of aerial site observation.

For MOSTAVIO, security is the starting point for a larger shift toward autonomous site monitoring.

“Once you have an autonomous system that can detect something happening on a construction site, deploy itself and provide information from the air, security is only the beginning,” said Pourmostaghimi.
