MOSTAVIO Inc. Secures Transport Canada SFOC, Advancing eVTOL Program Toward Outdoor Untethered Flight Testing

Regulatory approval marks a key milestone as the Toronto aerospace company prepares to move its eVTOL technology into its next phase of flight validation.

TORONTO, ON, September 23, 2026. MOSTAVIO Inc., a Toronto-based aerospace company developing next-generation electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) technology, today announced that it has received a Special Flight Operations Certificate (SFOC) from Transport Canada, marking a significant regulatory milestone in the company’s eVTOL development program.

The approval enables MOSTAVIO to advance toward its first outdoor, untethered flight testing, moving the program beyond controlled and tethered testing and into a new phase of real-world flight validation.

The milestone represents an important step in demonstrating that the aircraft, operational procedures, safety systems, and flight-testing approach can progress within Canada’s aviation regulatory framework.

Moving from development to outdoor flight validation

MOSTAVIO has been developing its eVTOL platform through an iterative engineering and testing program focused on aircraft design, propulsion, controls, power systems, safety, and autonomous flight technologies.

The company’s MX1 serves as a foundational prototype for MOSTAVIO’s broader eVTOL development roadmap. Outdoor untethered testing represents an important transition. The upcoming test program will be conducted in accordance with the conditions and operational limitations established through the regulatory approval.

With the SFOC secured, MOSTAVIO is now preparing for the next stage of its flight-testing program. The first outdoor untethered flights will focus on carefully defined test objectives designed to validate aircraft behavior and gather flight data under the approved operating conditions.

Results from these tests will be used to further refine the platform as MOSTAVIO continues progressing its eVTOL technology through successive stages of development and validation.
